CPU usage is often influenced by your computer hygeine. Try these and it
will change from 53%. HP computers have not been birthed with a
congenital defect that is always 53% cpu usage.
Do something constructive to change this.

thanks for all the information you provided chad they've been helpful. I did
the memory test and the result was no problem with memory.
Chad my hp have a hp recovery partition and did not get wipe out when i
upgraded to Vista. everytime i turn on my computer i have to select Window
Vista on the Window Vista logon manager and no respond from user a count down
will automatically select Window Vista. How do i automatically tell the
computer to always choose window Vista?

If you upgraded from XP to Vista, that's what is going to be the only choice
if I understand you correctly. You can dispense with the countdown by
hitting enter, and you can alter the countdown by typing msconfig in run
box>enter>timeout box.
