I bought a AMD Athalon 2200 CPU and I updated my bios so that the Motherboard
can handle the fast cpu. I have a K7T Turbo2 MSI Motherboard and have 256MB
of RAM. The problem I am having is that when the pc boots up it says that the
new CPU is only 1200 MHZ! I went back into my bios to find out what the
problem was. I checked the clock multiplier and it won't go any higher than
12 X 133=1596 which is no where near what the CPU is designed to run at. If I
set it any higher than that when the pc reboots nothing happens. So I have to
go back into the bios and set the clock speed to a lower setting.
The motherboard manual say that the motherboard can handle this type of cpu.
What could be the problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
