A loose cable jammed the CPU cooling fan (a Zalman). After a few minutes of
running the pc shut down. Few minutes later (after fixing the problem) the
computer ran OK with no apparent problems. The CPU is a 3.2 Ghz Intel. Am I in
the clear? Few days have passed without problems. I've ran Memtest and a couple
CPU heave apps with no problems.
Shouldn't Intel CPU (maybe newer AMD's as well) have an auto shutdown before
meltdown?
