My husband runs some software that is older, and it is
well known for taking up huge amounts of memory. When he
runs it, his CPU maxes at 100%. I thought I remembered
reading somewhere that this is bad for his CPU, but I am
not sure. Can you tell me?

Thanks!!!!!

Doing this under the circumstances you mention is likely to:
- Run the CPU and system hotter than usual. With proper cooling this is not
a major problem, especially if you have some sensors onboard that monitor
this and will shut system down long before damage occurs.
- Running a system hot all the time does lower the lifespan of components,
but may not cause failure prior to when you'd be wanting to upgrade anyway.
Not a major concern.
- Old apps frequently "forget" to give back the memory they took when the
app is closed. This can lead to performance problems until the system is
rebooted.

Not harmful, you probably run an old DOS program or other real mode
application.
