CPU question

My old compter is having problems. Periodically (every 4-5 minutes) my
computer locks-up. Nothing works: no mouse, sound, hard drive hum, nothing.
Then about 10 seconds later, all is fine, bno lingering effectsThe best

Then about 10 seconds later, all is fine, no lingering effects. The best
guess I have is my Celeron 733 is dying. My board is upgradable to 1ghz. It
seems to be harder to find a Celeron 733 than irt is to find a P3 733. Would
it be ok to use the P3? Also, would it be a major upgrade to get a 1ghz?

no. the chip won't fit your mobo. You can get a mobo & chip of a
1Ghz system (second hand) for a very reasonable amount of m0nie$.
