Hi everyone,

I have a problem with my desktop at this moment. When the (P4)CPU usage is keeping at about 50% for 5 to 6 mins. The alarm clock of the motherboard will on. I have checked the fan's speed of the CPU and it is at Max Speed already. All fans in my machine are working fine. Anyone knows what problem is it? Is the CPU overheat?

Thank you very much!!

Yup, that sounds like it is overheating - it shouldn't happen at 50% for only a few minutes. Try opening your case up and seeing if the air has a nice clear path to escape, sometimes cables can block the CPU cooler and cause really high temperatures.

Do you know how hot your CPU is when the alarm goes? You should be able to check what the level is set at in the BIOS.

hello!

I think I have found out whats wrong of my desktop now. DUST! There was too many dust inside the CPU fan. Do you know any shop sells small hoover for keyboard.(like a pen) I though it was a stupid invention before but may be it is good for hoover the hardware of your machine.

Just stick a dyson in there, that will soon get rid of the dust!! Dosent need to me anything small and computer sized... the detachable hose on any hoover should shift most of it!

i knew it was dust because im old comp did that just blow on it real hard and close ur eyes :D or can of air to get it out of there.. then suck it up
