Does anybody know of open-source program(s) that monitor the CPU, mobo,
and/or disk? (I'm aware of MBM.) In particular I would like to gauge the
temperature on the CPU and/or MB, and also monitor my disk with SMART. If
not, can anybody provide pointers to sample source code that does the same?
Thanks in advance for any hints.

An excellent, free program is AIDA32 - Personal System Information

This will monitor the SMART on the hard drive.

Keep in mind that most disk drives, even if they are SMART enabled, do not
have SMART turned on by default. When you install the BelManage client on a
PC, it will turn on SMART and begin tracking your drive health. SMART is
only useful when monitored over a period of time.

What motherboard and processor are you using?

Thanks for your reply. I am using an ECS K7VTA3 with an Athlon XP 2400+.
Also do you know of an open-source alternative to the SMART utility you
mentioned?
