CPU - Intel Pentium D 930

I have a stocked heatsink on a 930 Pentium D CPU. When I installed it, it ran
very cool 34 - 36 C idle and 40 - 41 under load.

I have slightly overclocked it to 3.2 - 3.4 ghz a few times tinkering. Now
when I encode DVD's, my temps are 49-50 C under load.

Just wondering if you would be to my advantage and replace the stock thermal
tape and apply Artic Silver to get those temps back down. I'm not interested
in buying a 3rd party heatsink either.

Any help would be appreciated.

What was it clocked at originally? 50 deg C isn't TERRIBLE, but you
should bring it down.

Slightly. Not enough to matter.

This WOULD be the better solution. In addition to the arctic silver.
Any help would be appreciated.

Don't overclock if you're not willing to cool it properly. You should
be aware that you may be signifigatly reducing the life of your chip
for a minimal performance gain.

For this amount of over-clocking, the temperatures are OK for the
stock heatsink.

Hi Ryan
As a matter of interest what software are you using to monitor MB, CPU,
POWER etc fan and temp readings.
