I've got celeron 2.4ghz on Gigabte tsr300 and it's very hot.
did u know any free program like cpucool to keep it cool?
tx in advice

If you've got a Celeron 2.4, and you consider it hot, then you've got a
problem :)

A Celeron 2.4 with the stock Intel heatsink should be nowhere near hot.

This summer is very hot in europe
today we have 35°Celsius...

The Athlon based sistem are around 44- 60 with full load, my celeron 2.4
is 55°C on load and 50 if i dont work. I tried cpuidle and it fallt su
reasonable
38-42 degrees, stop doing a lot of noise with standard cooler,
but cpuidle is shareware and i would know if you know a free program.

what does cpu idle actaully do? I assume it has some sort of process that
uses slightly less cpu power than the other systemidleprocess thats already
running. You've not got anything running in the background have you?

If he thinks *software* can cool *hardware* he's got a problem! ;o) <eg>

Some Intel CPUs allow change clock rate programatically
(for example, by an utility that monitors CPU usage).
More details you can find on Intel.com, search for "SpeedStep".
