Mary

Everytime I go to a website and click on just about
anything my computer hangs up. I couldn't get past
the "new post" button from my computer. Task manager shows
svchost.exe running at 97%. The whole CPU runs too slow to
function until I restart, which I have to do by unplugging
it. In maybe an unrelated issue - Search-space took over
my browser. Spybot didn't pick this up. I've run Norton AV
today with latest updates and the only trojan it found was
madise.dll, which it's quarantined. My son thinks there's
something going on with Java.

Any ideas? Thanks.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.

I uninstalled Java Virtual Machine according to CWS and
installed Sun Microsystems Java and this problem appears
to be fixed. I'm even able to post this message - which I
couldn't do before.

I still need to deal with the search-space issue but at
least the links on websites to help me do that are
working! Thanks for the links!
