CPU fans

Invisible fans dont really work that well, they tend to do virtually nothing, and are known to make the processor overheat :p (serious dude, i think you 4got the pic ;)).

Though i could recommend some good ones. The Thermalright SP-94 is one of the best, though you have to buy your own fan. Then theres the Thermalright SLK-947U which also needs a fan.

Genrally you want to try and get a copper heatsink as they dispurse heat alot better than aluminium.

lol, geez they still make those invisible fans?! I dont know much on fans (or anything else for that matter) but i have had success with Cooler Masters Areo 7 Lite.

theres also the bigger version of what reefy was describing, the -120- which is at the top of the page. thats had some good reviews in its time. (just get watercooling) lol

120mm fans are more quiet, and push more air.

also, airflow is importent. and before anyone says otherwise, THE TRUTH if you accept it or not, is its not how many fans you have, or how much air you have coming in. its all in how much heat can be pushed out the fastest.

taking a side panel fan, and the front fan, leaving in the back fan might improve cooling, since there is a single airflow which is not being conflicted with other fans. hence, i think 5 fan cases are naff.

Those ones are aparently quite good, even though they are fairly small, not because of the CFM the fan generates but because of the pressure that its at.

good good, will be purchasing one of those bad boys, also I need a Cheapish, not crazy money so £25 tops for a relitively silent PSU?

If you're buying new, I really don't think such a thing exists :(

Edit: Hang on, the Jeantech 350W PSU was on sale at PC World last week for £19.00, I bought one, that would suit you. I think the 300W version is £27.00 and the 400W version is £40.00, if memory serves me well. Worth a look see.

As for CPU coolers, did you take a look at my review of the Gigabyte 3D on the site's front page? Worth considering although it costs a fiver more than the Coolermaster.

ok sorted, just bought a 550W Q-tek gold PSU from a pc shop near where i live, I know the fella so I got it for £25 which i thought was pretty damn good, and as for the CPU fan, he's gonna see tomorrow if he can get me one of those Gigabyte fans, they look the biz and do an excelent job i thought after reading that review!

My friend has one of those on his AMD XP 3000+ and its rubbish. He is at 50-55 Idle and at 62-68 on load. Hes used the best cooling paste out (Artic Silver 5) and has 2 case fans, 1 at the front (sucking in air) and 1 at the rear as an exaust. Also, its not the most silent of fans out :(.

It's ok, I think I've decided again't that one, Going for that monster of a fan, the Gigabyte on earlier mentioned, read the review and it looks all good:)

the 120 like i suggested? I thik i was backed up on my suggestion as this would be my choice if not to go for water.

Well if your going for air cooled then theres only 3 to choose from if you want to notice a big difference. The Thermalright SP-94 or the XP-120 and the gigantic Cooler Master Hyper 6. These are 3 of the best air coolers out there, nothing comes close. Though the hyper 6 is pretty heavy, it exceeds the max weight limit for most motherboards , so its moe for the comps that are on the side, not in tower form ;).

You can get the SP-94 for £25 from here
The XP-120 for £41 from here
and the hyper 6 for £30 from here

The Gigabyte Rocket is alright, but ive seen the older version (3D Ultra GT) is better from a few sites.
