Cpu comparison

Hello, I am considering upgrading my processor, I have a machspeed 478 mb,
cap of up to 800 fsb. I would like to change my celeron d 2.93 533fsb, 256
L2 for a Pentium 4 3.0e 1m, 800fsb. am I going to see much performance
difference in doing this. My son plays aoe 3 alot, i am already running a
diamond radeon 9550 video card.

It has been impossible finding comparison charts for these two cpu's.

It'll be faster, but not much. You most likely have a video
card bottleneck at the moment, maybe memory if you don't
have 1GB or more.

You won't see a lot of gain, if any. You are basically staying on a platform
that is quickly becoming obsolete. You might be better served saving for
awhile and going with a Core 2 Duo system and PCI-E graphics. The processor
price will not be a lot more, it will run cooler and you can get a lot
better graphics even in the mid price range of cards.
