Cpu 100%

Hi,

When I do a virus scan with Kaspersky the CPU usage goes up to 100% and stays at that. Is this normal when running a virus scan? Or is something running in the background?
 
Mine does the same with Avast. Use Task Manager to see what is using the cpu.

Cool, I had a quick look in task manager and Kaspersky was using the most CPU usage, seems to be better now gone back to around 30-40%

Think it all dependson what part of the drive Kaspersky is scanning and how big the files are its scanning..My CPU usage goes up and dwn like a yo-yo when I do scans...
 
Antivirus scans are one of the most cpu intensive programs on a PC..:nod:
