Covered toolbar

I've just re-installed XP and now when I maximise an explorer screen it
covers the whole screen hiding the toolbar , I then have to drop the screen
back into the taskbar to see anything else and it's driving me mad , any
help guys?
 
Lock the taskbar! Right click on it and put a check in the appropriate
place.
 
Crusty there's already a check in the lock taskbar , the page still covers
the whole screen?

Right click on the taskbar, select Properties and put a check in "Keep the
taskbar on top of other windows". That should do the trick.

Hi Karen,

Check the option in the 'Start Menu' configuration menu that says to keep the task bar on top.
