Outlook 2002 internally uses FaxStartPrintJob Fax Win32
API which takes only sender name, sender company, sender
department, sender billing code. Are you not seeing even
these even when they are set in Fax properties?

Hello Raghavendra,

Sorry for the late reply. I did not receive a notification on your
response. I thought that I included an attachment of the fax in a TIF file.
I have repeated the process several times and received the same results. Is
it possible that changing any default file pathes in the configuration would
cause this? I wouldn't think so, since it seems to be pulling the
information from Outlook.

I setup Outlook to send and receive faxes per the Microsoft instructions.
Now that I am thinking of it, I will say that I have not determined if the
same problem occurs when sending the fax from the Properties. I will test it
this evening when I get home from work. Where does the sender information
reside on the computer? I would like to take a look at the location to
determine what information is actually populating those fields.

Raghavendra,

I sent a fax using File>Print>Fax (Printer). It pulled the information from
the Fax Monitor Properties window under the User Information (tab). I don't
understand why the fax sent from Outlook via Fax Mail Transport would only
populate the Recipient fields but not the Sender fields. I would like to
resolve this issue, since I use Outlook as a central point of communications.
I think I sent several faxes to people and they have no idea from who it
came.

Hi Ruezo,
I am sorry for the delay again. We are trying for an in-house repro & I'll
get back to you once I have more information on this. Meanwhile you can try
the following work-around.

Enter a text box with hard-coded sender name in the cover page. Note that
the sender name will always be the same even for multiple users. The way to
do this is to go to Start > Programs > Accessories > Communications > Fax >
My Faxes. Open 'Common CoverPages' folder in this & double-click on any
cover page. In the cover page editor you can insert a text box & type
something in it. Remove the existing '{Sender Name}' text box & keep this
new text box in its place. I'd advise you to copy paste an existing cover
page & do the modifications on the new cover page so that the standard cover
page is undisturbed.

Hi Raghavendra,

Sorry about the duplicate post. For some reason the first one did not wrap
the text and made it difficult to read. I'll try the work around and let you
know how it goes.

Thank you,
Chris A. Zanowick (AKA Ruezo)
