hi,
in Windows I have "ehome" and "pss" files. can someone please tell me what
these are. also, is there a site that I can go to to tell me what I can
safely eliminate from the msconfig start up. thanks
Sheila

Tell us the make/model of your computer
a lot of manufacturers put specific programs on their systems that you paid
for.
In Msconfig...............everybodys is different so its very hard to say
specifically to get rid of this or that..because of the above.
Never get rid of anything that you do not know specifically what it is. Some
are easy to figure out by their titles..I have one that
says"F:\AVG\avgcc.exe/startup................I know its my anti virus
program because I went to that directory and looked at the
program..........found the .exe file and right clicked properties. You can do
the same for each listing and then decide if you wish that program to start.
Good luck

Leave both folders alone. They are part of your Windows
installation.

If you want some insight into the programs that are listed in
msconfig, you can find more information by doing some research
on either of these web sites:

Task List Programs
http://www.answersthatwork.com/Tasklist_pages/tasklist.htm

Startup Applications List
http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php

Just click on the letter that the program starts with and
search the listing.

Keep in mind that there are a number of programs that must be
left listed in msconfig. Any items that may be part of an
antivirus or firewall application should not be removed.

Post back if you have a question about specific entries in your
startup list.

the pss files are for windows Picture and Sound Show files, the eHome, well,
basically it's a way, I think, to connect your tv to your pc.
