Well, at 2 am tomorrow, less than 24 hours away (down under anyway)
I'll be passing that scariest of numbers
The female "Best by" date
The big Four Oh :nod:

Was talking to my Mum on the phone last night.
Reminiscing about the things we did for her fourtieth birthday
She's still got the engraved watch my sister & I bought her for that most momentous of occasions.

I don't usually pay much attention to my birthdays
But figured I should probably celebrate this one,
so me & my family
Including all of John's Kids that live here in NZ,
& getting all of them to stay still long enough to attend a 'family function' is really quite astounding
Ashley didn't even make it in time to the wedding so he missed the actual ceremony :p
Will be heading around to a local restaurant for dinner.
Probably a pretty staid celebration
But given my state of impending decreptitude It is best to be careful :lol:

so... anyhow... anyone want to come along?
I think I'm supposed to be a 'grown-up' now
But I never was very good at that
I guess I'll just have to grow-down instead :nod:
 
I won't be there in body, but my thoughts may wonder on over ... :D

I do believe at the age of 40 I suffered my first pangs of 'growing-up-itis' twas a strange sensation :D

Yeah, that's why i decided to have a party
Just seemed far too boring to sit around feeling sorry for myself
with those scary words... "middle age" rattling around my skull
So I thought
"Party time"!!!! :D:D:D

Yay Ciri... enjoy the Naughty Forties and look forward gleefully to the Nifty Fifties .... Ignore the dodgy eyesight ... it can be a blessing, you don't actually see the crows-feet (or should that be laughter-lines ;) ) Never mind the odd grey hair, there is plenty of stuff to cammouflage those :nod: .... and just hink of all the really good things that become better with age - wine, cheeses, antiques .... you can't really beat it, so go for it head-on, it can be fun :lol:

I hope you enjoy tomorrow Ciri - you can always start up counting backwards instead, my granny did that and now she's younger than I am ;)
 
40 grand time , just got that teenage stuff out of the way an now its time to enjoy yourself :D

lol, I remember when I told my Mum that I had found some grey hairs,
Her reaction was that No I hadn't, she was far too young to have a daughter with grey hair :lol:

I must have a hunt 'round & see if I can find a copy of that song

I was thinking of being my shoe size instead,
But since John's been seven for years My daughter tells me there's something creepy in a nine year old being married to a seven year old :lol:

lol, thanks AB, but I'm afraid, with my daughter at 14 & my son 9 I'm heading straight into a whole new dimension of teenage hormones :lol:
hmmmm... maybe a good time for that 'big OE' I've always promised myself :rolleyes:
