Counting color-coded text?

I use MS Word 2003...
My client has sent me a huge file of several 100 pages. It was a translation
were several people had been involved. There is black, red, green, etc.
color-coded text (several pages, a paragraph, just one sentence). The font
is the same throughout the text. Since manual counting is to much
time-consuming, I'd like the computer do the task. MS Word doesn't have a
function to search by colors.

Is there any software that allows me (e.g.) to gather all the RED-coded
text, combine it into one file and save this text? I wonder why MS couldn't
have a function that allows to search by color...

Thanks,
Murgi

microsoft.public.word may be a good place to ask, if no one has a better
suggestion. Also a Google search such as this may turn up something
helpful:

Thanks a lot. The Google search was very helpful indeed since it shows
various approaches in dealing with colors.
