some time back, windows XP SP2 started saying my copy of windows was not
genuine. i hadn't re-installed windows or anything at the time, and this is
the windows that my computer came with. i'm not sure what provoked this. I've
run antivirus and anti-ad/spyware without success. is there any way to fix
this w/o reinstalling windows? thanks!

Did you google?
http://www.google.com/search?source...GLD:en&q="windows+genuine+advantage"+error+XP

You might want to run something like Belarc Reports (www.belarc.com) or
KeyFinder from www.magicaljellybean.com to compare your COA product key with
the one running on your computer.
