I need to creat a cool looking countdown timer that comes
up during a presntation. It will come up after a question
slide. Does anyone have such a timer, I need to do this
ASAP.

Thanks

Just insert a new slide, insert a text box and type a number with a large
font size. Add the animation you require to the number and add a transition
of 'n' seconds to the slide.

Duplicate the slide as required and replace the typed numbers.

Yes, I have a VBA based one. Tell me a little more about your quiz design.

Thanks for responding. I am creating a presentation for a
work group training program. I need to have a countdown
timer that I can change the amount of time they are
allowing for different sections (i.e., 15min 10min 8 min)
So after several slides have been presented this timer
will appear and the work session will begin. When time
runs out they move to the next slide. This must work
within the window 2000. Hope this is gives you the info
you need.

There are 2 ways to do this:

Solution 1 -- Use PowerPoints inherant timing
As Geetesh suggested, insert a slide that says '10 minutes' and set the
auto transition to 60 seconds. Then insert one that says '9 minutes' and so
on. (While this method does not display exact time, it will work on all
machines without macro security worries.)

Solution 2 -- Have users click on a button that ...
Obtains the timing (from input box, notes, tag, whatever)
Advance to the timing slide
Start the countdown timer
When it reaches zero, advance to next slide
This solution requires that the security setting, on the users end, be set
to allow a macro to run. Post back with an anti-spammed address if you
would like me to forward the file to you.

I have downloaded this timer. I can't get it to do what I
want it to do. I creat a shape and it looks great the
first time I do it but when I go back to it, it defualts
to the left corner and reduces down. Do yopu know how to
keep it from defualting?

Hello,

Based on the messages in this discussion thread, it appears that there
might be several potential product suggestions.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that it's important that
PowerPoint provide this kind of functionality (easy to add timers <no VBA,
no complex animations, set timer during slide show, etc.), don't forget to
send your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions)
