duane had previously tried to assist me with this,
however, i apparently still do not have the code correct.

this is what i have as the property for the field in both
the group footer and the report footer:
=Sum(Abs([YesNoField])) (this is the code that duane
suggested i use)

it is only returning a checkbox with YES. as i explained
previously, i need a count of all checkboxes = YES.

the field is located within detail area of report. i have
tried all of the running sum settings but still get the
same results. this is needed for a work related project
which i need to complete today. hope someone can resolve
my problem. thx, your support system is awesome!

Is your control in the footer a check box? It should be a text box. Then
name of the text box should not be the same as the name of a field. Set the
format to "Standard".

good morning duane,

yep, this is exactly the info i needed for it to work!!!
thx.
