Could this be because of spyware?

I am an eighth grade student in Alabama. One of my
teacher's computers "suddenly" restarted and a message
like the following was displayed on the screen:

Windows could not load because the following file could
not be found:
(Something, I don't know exactly!)

You can repair it with the original Windows CD
 
Perhaps, but more likely something else. Perhaps a virus, as well, but
perhaps also either a disk or hardware problem, or some user accident.
