Hi,
Thanks in advance for your help. I have a user using windows XP pro. On a
restart I get in task bar :
Could not reconnect all network drives

My computer shows network drives with red X.

Any Ideas.

Thanks

Dexter

Wish I could help but I am looking for answers to the
same problem. Let me know if you come up with anything. I
haven't yet

Are computers showing network drives with red X turned on?
I currently am using WinXP Pro and the only time I get
the Red X is when the particular machne is not turned on
or has been manually disconnected either by disabling the
connection or literally unpluggin the cable from the
router.

I am a small network administrator. Using Windows 2000 professional on all of our computers never generated this error. When we began the upgrade to Windows XP Pro some of my client computers were getting this same error message while others were not.

Upon examining the different configurations I noticed that some user logins had autorun applications that relied on network shares (mapped drive letters). I found that by changing the network drive letter to a UNC this message disappeared.

This may be a timing issue between the NetLogon service and the startup applications. I have not found anything to tweak this delay yet but I'm searching. I have not noticed any ill effects other than calls from users complaining of the message.
