Could not open multiple instances of XLS file

one of my client unable to open two new xls file at same time.

i.e

if he goes in start - run - excel : it opens new excel
leave it open.

but again if he follows same procedure: new xls does not open.

any gueses?
 
That's because you can run one instance of Excel, and open several files in
that one instance. Therefore, after the first start-run-excel, the correct
route to open more files should be file-open-[select the file you want to
open].

Most probably what you or your client want is that you want to see multiple
entries in the taskbar. If this is the case, start excel,
tools-options-[view tab]-check "Windows in Taskbar" box

This is for OfcXP . The route may be different for other versions, I have no
idea at all.
