Using OL 2007 trial, I am getting this error whenever I try to open, reply to
or forward an e-mail: "could not install the custom actions." However, once
I get the error message, the action proceeds. (The e-mail opens, replies,
forwards, etc.) I do not get this error with calendar items or notes. This
just started happening and I think (though I am not sure) it may have to do
with my installation of the Palm Desktop for my Treo 680. My understanding
is that OL 2007 doesn't support hot synch with Treo devices but it apparently
has done so in this trial version since I'm seeing OL 2007 features on my
Treo, such as the color coding for appointments. Whatever the case, it's
growing very tiresome getting this error. The only solution I found aywhere
here was to "create a brand new Windows profile," which I don't know how to
do. Any ideas?

The error also appears with appointment reminder dialogues. Th error reads
something to the effct that "Outlook can't close this so you wil be reminded
again." The only way to close the dialgue is to use the red close window X.

I fixed it through trial and error. For anyone who experiences the problem
also, here's what I did.

Reinstalled the Chapura XT Outlook conduits, which I had installed
previously in order to synch properly between Outlook and my Treo 650 when I
was using the OL 2007 bets which, like the trial version, is incompatible
with Treo devices, including my Christmas present to myself, a Treo 680.
Chapura was knocked out or corrupted during the HotSYnch installation. When
you install the Chapura XT conduits, they automatically take over synching
the Outlook functions (calendar, tasks, notes, contacts) and leave the rest
to the Treo HotSynch utility.

The only problem is that all of my calendar items were duplicated (I was
warned in thesynch log). I remember that this is an issue of whether I have
synch set to synchronize, handheld overwrites devcie or vice versa. When I
don't have 20 people coming for dinner, I'll set aside some time to tackle
that one.

This fixed the problem and all of the error messages went away.
