Could not go online

I installed the beta version of antispyware and booted the
machine and now, I could go online. Few minutes prior to
the install, I was browsing using a wireless card. Now
even with directly connected to the cable modem (USB), i
get DNS error. Any help is appreciated.

Try these steps, outlined by Bill Sanderson, and report back.

Here's what to do, on XP SP2,

Go to a command prompt--one way is start, run, cmd <enter>

Type in

netsh winsock reset

Hit enter
restart the machine. You will need to reinstall any software which has
added an LSP to the stack--could be a VPN client, or McAfee privacy or some
network security products.
