Corupted database

My Access database gets always corrupted, the error is
"The Microsoft Jet database engine stopped the process because you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time".
But the fact is iam using a standalone system.
If possible, could you tell
me why this database became corrupted? Or what in it became corrupted? I
want to make sure that it is not something that we can prevent.
