Corruption problems

The problem I'm having is that things simply stop working after a while.
Macros, named ranges, procedures, you name it. Copying everything to a new
file always resolves the problem but this is pretty tedious. I wonder if
this is normal or what precautions I could take to stop it happening. Is it
likely to be a fragmented disk or something within Excel? Any advice
appreciated.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like transferring values to a separate workbook
would be the answer.
