Hi.
I have now struggling with my hard drives.. After sometime, files is starting to get corrupt and not all files is possible to repair with the utililities that are in WinXP. Any idea why this is happening and how it can be prevented?

Thank you advance.

Your hard drive may be about to die a horrible death.

Copy all your personal information to a folder and burn it to CD if you can, or copy it to another Hard Drive. I recommend that you use files and settings tranfser wizard for this.

That way you can 'build' up a new system when you get your replacement hard disk, then use the wizard to improt all your personal information. This includes ISP infomation, email files etc.

Do u regularly install & uninstall programs.Do scandisk &
disk defrag regularly atleast twice a month. Are there any
Bad sectors on ur hard drive. If possible format your hard
drive(low level format) or try fixing MBR.Do your hear
any noise when u access your hard drive. If you hear any
noises try out new hard disk because media plates inside
your Hard disk might have goe bad.Do a virus scan scan
with updated Anitvirus files.

Install the latest M/B drivers from the manufacturer of your board,
including the IDE drivers.

Actually I've been noticing the same problem even with
everything istalled as it should be (it's not the
hardware) I've been getting file corruption (especially
downloaded program files)on both NTFS and FAT32, single
drive, and raid device as well as downloads being corrupt
soon after being saved.

Running XP, all up to date, hardware and drivers right
on. I dual boot and the corruption doesn't occur in 98.
Anyone else?
