It all depends on the format of the document and the extent of the
corruption. What does Word report when you try to open it?
If it is a Word 97-2003 format (.doc) document, try opening it with the
"recover text from any file" option; if it is a Word 2007 format (.docx or
..docm) document, what is the error message that is displayed?
