Corrupted Registry

I'm running WinXP Home, I keep getting messages about my
registry been corrupted and my computer just keep
crashing, also reboots it self when it finish loading the
windows xp black screen at starup. Can anybody tell me if
maybe buying a new hard drive would be a good solution to
this problem? The computer was upgraded with a clean
install and C drive was converted to ntfs in the
process...

Generally, its NOT a hard drive problem. I'd suspect ram first.
