Hello Yall, when I try to log on (Standard user account
not an administrator account) to Windoos 2000 Pro I
get the following message:
"Windows cannot load your profile. It may be corrupt.
Contact your Administrator"
Dave suggested to rename the profile and use my email
program to copy the old profile settings to the new one.
How do you do that?

Thanks a lot

This will be easier to follow if you keep it in the same thread. Which step
do you need help with?

Hello Dave,
I am not sure how to rename the profile, and I am not
sure how to use the email program to copy the settings
from the renamed profile to the new one. I have never
worked with profiles before.

Thanks a lot

Logon as local administrator, open Windows Explorer and navigate to the;
\Documents and Settings
folder, look for the folder named for your logon and rename it to something
you can find like appending 'old' to it. Then logon as normal and a new
profile will be created from an image in \default user. Now copy the parts
you need from your old profile to the new one. If you use Outlook the you
can import the *.pst file found by default in;
%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

for Outlook Express you can import from the message store. The default
being;
%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application
Data\Identities\SID\Microsoft\Outlook Express
