Corrupt .PST File

I have a client that I am supporting who is using Outlook 2000 Std. His .PST file has become too big and is now corrupt. I ran both the Inbox Repair Tool in addition to the 2GB .PST file fix which allowed me to truncate no less than 35MB off of the end of the file. Unfortunately, the end portion of the file is the information that he needs the most. Is there another utility available that will allow you to specify which portion of the file to truncate so that we can attempt to recover most of his critical information. Or is there another utility that can be ran to try and resolve the problem?

Any help that you can provide would be great.

Thanks!

You can open the file in a HEX editor (like UltraEdit) and delete another
portion of the file. Then use scanpst.exe to repair the file. Needless to
say that you should work with a copy of the original when doing this.

That's Awesome! Where can I get UltraEdit? Is it Freeware?

Thanks!

UltraEdit can be downloaded from www.ultraedit.com (more specific
ftp://ultraedit.com/uedit32.zip) and is no Freeware but without registering
you can use it as a 30 day limit demo. There are numerous of HEXeditors
though but I prefer to use UltraEdit.

I've downloaded it and was able to open the file but I am unclear as to what has to be done next. It specifies Memory Address lines, so do I just delete a portion, run the scan and try to open it again. if I delete lines, I'm afraid that I will render the file unusable. Any suggestions

Thanks again for your help
