Corrupt Powerpoint files

In setting up HP Pavilion zt3011 and installing XP Office
I have been unable to open some of my PowerPoint files
that have been sent t me or that were created on my
previous 2000 system. The files can be read on my old
system no problem.

Is this a graphics controller issue for HP Pavillion or a
changeover corruption from old version to new?

Any advice is welcome.

Well, I know there was an issue with PPT 2003 opening certain 2000
files. Info at

But I can't remember if we've seen this same issue with 2002 (aka PPT
XP) opening 2000 files. Brainfart here, I guess. What is the exact error
message you're receiving when you try to open the files in PPT XP?
