Hello,

I was told that my IE 6.0 is corrupt and needs to be
reinstalled. Problem is that XP will not allow me to do a
reinstall. It tells me that I have the most current version.

How can I get around this problem.

Thanks
John

Hi John,

To reinstall IE in XP, first set the registry key "IsInstalled" to 0.

I found a KB article explaining how to reinstall IE 6.0.
The problem I have is that the Browser is very very very slow.
I can download very fast over the net and I installed
netscape browser to see if it was something other than
getting out on the internet. Netscape is very fast going
to all the pages that are painfully slow using IE 6.

All of this is still happening after reinstalling IE 6 and
running "sfc /scannow", what the heck do I do now?

try this
Click [Start] [Run] type:
(Press Enter after each command)
Regsvr32 /i URLMON.DLL
Regsvr32 actxprxy.dll
Regsvr32 shdocvw.dll

I did this and then some, "sfc /scannow", I mentioned
that Netscape screams and IE is slow, Installed netscape
to see if it was my browser or something else, I also
installed Netscape to be able to brows without wanting to
throw the computer out the window.....

So I reinstalled IE
I ran sfc /scannow but things still very very slow on the
IE side
Netscape "Screams" with speed. I have no problem
downloading files or Streaming media.

Hey Chad,
I did all of this, still same problem. BTW I installed
netscape after I was having all the problems, I could
not surf if I did not add netscape.
