corrupt history file??

when going to different sites, clicking on url....recently my IE history file
is not updating. so i guess that it must be corrupt, must i delete it or can
it be repaired somehow, what about system restore or am i on the wrong
track??

Try the following information and see if it helps:

First off, as you are not sure the History folder is corrupted, as a
precaution, let's back up the History first. Follow the steps here.

Free Program:

How to restore History from a History backup
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/maxdb/en/30/5ada32596211d4aa83006094b92fad/content.htm

Then delete the current History folder and create a new one....

Delete the History folder and index.dat:
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

NOTE: Be sure that ALL instances of IE6 are CLOSED before you do
the install of this (these) .inf files. Otherwise the "old" entries will
just be re-written back to the Registry when you close IE.

I had this problem a while back and found no answer that worked. In the end
I created
a new user account and trasferred everything across. All seems OK now.
