I have a win2000 professional system. When shuting down I
recieve the following error message. I was not able to
shut the exe file down. I had to disconnect the power.
" vbsystem35.exe-DLL Intialation Failed"

There is a file in winnt/system32 folder
llabeled "vbsystem35.exe" file. It was lasted accessed on
9/12/03.
There is a 2nd file in the same folder
labeled "vbsystem35.exe Delete on Reboot1". It was last
accessed 9/5/03.
I tried to fix th ejproblem by deleting this file. When
this file was deleted the system shut down as normal. But
the next time I shut it down I recieve the same error
message. I reinstalled the file. Now I still have to end
the exe file before it will shut down but I no longer need
to shut the power off to do it.

I need help to repair my system.

Thank you, Rose

Hi, Rose.

Where did that vbsystem35.exe file come from? It's not a part of Windows.
Google can't find any mention of it.

Could it be a virus? One so new that even Google hasn't heard of it yet?

Hi RC

I don't believe it's a virus the only effect it appears to
have on the system is it won't end when I shut down. I
stay away from unknown web pages and use website for email.

As far as where it came from I don't know. I found it by
doing a search on my harddrive after receiving the error
message several times.

If this file does not belong there can I safey delete it?

Thank you,
Rose
