My Vista Ultimate display gets corrupted every so often. There is a
work-around of ending the explorer.exe task, then starting a new explorer
that does remove the corruption of the display images without rebooting. I
have been using the work-around for a couple of weeks and I am growing weary
of using the work-around 12+ times a day.
Does anyone know more about the problem like when will an update to Vista
fix the problem?

the most obvious is have you updated the video drivers.

Indeed, I have updated the video drivers. This problem has been discussed or
still is under discussion somewhere else in the "Windows" world. It's my
fault for losing track of that thread. But the point is that it was
indicated in that thread by a MS person that the problem was known "in
Windows Vista" and would be addressed. Just wondering if anyone knows when
it will get addressed?

I think I (We) spend a very inappropriate amount of time troubleshooting
problems with our PCs and OSs. I have been doing it for years and the
frustration just builds over the years. (Sorry but thanks for letting me
rant a sec)

as the FAMOUS LAST WORD.
mine never does.
been using vista ultimate 64 bit for MONTHS. ATI AIW 9800 using latest drivers.MSI mother board.
my display has never had such a problem.
personally do not remember hearing of it anywhere before.
all kinds of display problems but nothing as you describe.

is there any possibility that some program you have installed is contributing to this problem,.

would not be the first time.

I am too having issues with display corruption on Vista. I have an ATI AIW
X800XT AGP card. Sometimes i have to estart Windows Vista to get it to go
away and other times restarting doesn't work. I have the latest catalyst
drivers (7.6). Its especially troubling when im trying to watch TV and its
corrupt as well. I just hope that SP1 will correct the bug.

I also have this display corruption problem. It happens around once per
hour, mainly noticed it when I am doing VB6 development.
I have a dell laptop with onboard intel graphics (driver is up to date).

Anyone else experienced (or hopefully found a solution) to this?
