Corrupt Desktop Themes

Approx 1/2 of my desktop themes seem to be corrupt, once
loaded have black screen with taskbar, able to click on
start and display icons but unable to see properties
screen to change back. Is there a way to reload themes in
XP???. Virus defs are up to date.
 
Im having the same problem, I had to revert back to the
windows classic theme because the XP theme is corrupt and
the XP style isnt even listed as an option under the
appearance tab. If anyone has suggestions on how to fix,
update or dl new default themes it would be appreciated
