Previously I had 2 Windows 98 machines running a networked visual basic app,
with a Microsoft access database stored on one of the PC's, about 6 months
ago I upgraded one of the 98 machines to windows xp.
Since then I have had intermittent problems with a Reserved error -3034,
this totally corrupts the database, and I have to use Jetcomp to repair,
also A number of primary keys disappear which then need to be added.
I know from past experience that networking can cause this problem, but I
have done all the obvious checks i.e. Static IP's, pinging both machines,
primary protocol set to tcp/ip. But none of these seem to stop the problem
going away.
I know the simple solution to fix this problem is either revert back to 2
win 98 machines or upgrade the other machine to XP, but I just wondered if
there is any solution to this.
Thanks
Richard
