I did a fresh install on a new HD and when re-installing,
all my applications come up with the error "Cannot
install.. file is corrupt. Please check integrity..."
These files were fine before and since its happening to
every one, I don't think it is to do with the .exe's
anyway. Just to be safe- I ran them through Norton AV 2004
with the latest patches and also ran AdAware 6. But it
happens on Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash, etc. Doesn't
matter what the app is or whetehr its from a CD or local.

Its a fresh system. What could be wrong? I bought the new
drive b/c I thought there was errors on appeared on my old
HD and I thought the HD was corrupt- but that wasn't the
case at all I now find. I am dumbfounded. Please help! I
am at a loss.

While it's possible the old drive was failing and the brand new drive was
not quite right when it came out of the box, there can be other reasons for
data corruption. Bad memory, insufficient or erratic power supply,
overclocking, improper shutdowns, just to name just a few.

Check cables, connections, clean fans, dust. Reseat cards and memory. If
you are unable to pinpoint the reasons for persistent corruption, it may be
wise to bring the system in to a shop and have them test it throroughly.
They have the tools that can uncover flaws that are missed with standard
troubleshooting.

Thanks Sharon.
I will try your suggestions. Itys on 3 drives now- new and
old primary and a slave. So, if anything, its likely the
suggestions you made.
