Hi Guys,

I've a problem in my Windows XP Pro edition. One day when I had nothing particular to do, I was poking around with different types of Network Connections. After creating an Incoming Connection and a Network Bridge, a typical Microsoft error happened and my computer restarted by itself. The illegal shutdown scan started and truncated some entries. But just as the systray icons were appearing, it restrted again. After this thing happened 2 or 3 more times(each time some entries being truncated), I started in my Win98 and ran a System Mechanic clean-up. God knows whether for this or something else, my computer started peacefully. But I saw that the taskbar, start menu and title bars have changed their apperences and have started to look like the ones in 98 or 95. I just can't correct this problem. What should I do to change these apperences back to WinXP one?
Thanks in advance.

some way since that error and I can't restore it now since it'll result in
me losing some other important chenges as well. I was asking if there is any
way to give back the taskbar, start menu and title bar the XP apperence.
Anybody please?

Sorry Kelly, but I added both the .reg files to my registry, but no result. Under the drop-down list Windows and buttons, there is no other option but Windows Classic Style. I tried everything mentioned in your site but this display is still wearing that disgusting look. I've uploaded a screenshot of the desktop to http://loom91.tripod.com/Screenshot.JPG (case sensitive). Can anyone help me out of this sticky situation?

Gandalf,

Set the "Themes" service to running via...

[Start]
| Run |
services.msc
[Enter]

Navigate to "Themes" service
Startup Type: [ Automatic ]
[Apply]
[Start]
[OK]

Now, in Control Panel
| Display |
/Appearance\
"Windows and Buttons"
you should have a choice of "Windows Classic Style" and "Windows XP Style"
