Hi,
on a friends new notebook with XP Pro Sp3 is a strange effect. If he
tries to log in, the system says the password is incorrect. But the
password is correct, this is twice checked. On the system is another
user without a password. If he logs in with that account, he gets into
the system. And then, very strange, he can change the user to that one
which said the password is incorrect before, with the correct password.
This is reproducable and not an issue of mistyping or keyboard defect.
From time to time, he can login directly with the correct password,
without changing user before.
I manage 200+ XP machines at work, but never run into that.
I try now to uninstall sp3 although I googled around and found a guy
with the same problem (and no solution) with XP SP2.
I'd be happy to get your help.
TIA
Alex
