Hi all,
Well, this morning I dropped a borrowed laptop and now the screen
is buggered. Half of the display is OK and the other half has a weird
pattern and when moved one can see the LCD liquid sort of 'splash'
around within that pattern. The pattern partially resembles cracked
glass and other than that the machine still works fine.
Of course the display is condemned, but assuming I could find a same
machine where the 'lid'/display is still OK, are these interchangeable, and
if so, is it a very complicated task ? It's a "network", PIII @ 600Mhz
(MD9374 Notebook PC). I'm tempted to attack the only screw I can
see on the lid and see how it's assembled, but I need to wait for it's owner
to return from Germany. Possibly (hopefully) he can somehow claim it from
insurance - though I seriously doubt it.
Sitting on the African continent, methinks I can shelve this machine for
the eventual-but-maybe-sparepart-basket.
TIA for any input.
