I have a P4P800 Deluxe motherboard. I want WinXP to control all the power
managment features of my system. Should I disable all the ACPI and APM stuff
in the BIOS? What are the correct BIOS settings for allowing WinXP to
control all the power management features of the system? Are there any Asus
technical support articles covering this?

I asked MS the same question, the tech said APM disabled, ACPI enabled.
Check "microsoft.public.windowsxp.setup_deployment" news group.

Basically once you start windows, it takes over control of power management
anyway. Your BIOS settings don't matter.

However if you disable ACPI, then Windows won't know you have an ACPI PC,
and can't use the features.

ACPI is the successor to APM.
