Hello,
Recently my ISP(Rogers) compelled me to move my website from the present
address at Rogers. com, to a new location at yahoo-geocities, before Feb 28
2005. The present location is http://www.geocities.com/xyz_321_ab/
They give instructions how to make the move at
www.rogershelp.com/webspaceupgrade
What they don`t tell you is that in the new location, you are bombarded by
advertisements from Yahoo-Geocities, where the old location was ad-free.
Each page of the website you open, there pops up a big ad ,on the right
side of the screen.
Not only that, but if you remove their ad, all animation on the page stops.
This is corporate vandalism.
Does anybody know how to stop this ?
Thanks a million. Phil

Find another web host, one that meets your needs/desires, and this time
read the all of the terms of the agreement you sign with them.

From the FAQ:

Who is eligible to receive the ad-free version of the Rogers Yahoo!
GeoCities service?
Customers who had active WebSpace account(s) prior to July 13th 2004 (in
Ontario and New Brunswick) and December 1st 2004 (in Newfoundland) are
eligible for the ad free version of Rogers Yahoo! GeoCities. However,
all customers have access to the Rogers Yahoo! GeoCities service to
create their own Website. Customers who were installed with the Rogers
Yahoo! Hi-Speed Internet service after July 13th 2004 (in Ontario and
New Brunswick) and December 1st 2004 (in Newfoundland) will have access
to the ad-supported version of the Rogers Yahoo! GeoCities service at no
additional charge.

You pay Yahoo 4.95 a month to stop the ads.
