Corkboard

I do a lot of my work in Office, particularly Word and Excel, and I am
constantly emailing files to others in my group, sometimes in response to a
request.

I was wondering if, using Explorer or some other means, I can post all of my
documents, with short descriptions, on one page. Then I can ask everyone to
please check my "Corkboard" first, to see if the document is finished and to
download it there. This would increase the efficiency of intra-office
communication, I believe. It would also eliminate the need to think of
everyone who ought to receive the document by email; anyone who needs one of
my works can find it easily and access it.

Can anyone give me ideas? I have only used Explorer so far for accessing the
Web, and I think this could be another good appication.

What you seem to be asking for is an Intranet website, or an FTP site on
your local network.
Do you have a version of Office with FrontPage?
You could use that to create such a site on a local server for use by the
rest of the office staff.
If you don't have FrontPage, there are any number of good alternatives
available.
