I want to create a huge YouTube presentation in many segments. Each segment
will be part straight video, part PowerPoint presentation with video
embedded. I want to use a Canon Vixia HG21 Camcorder. It generates .wts
format (I believe) but I checked with Corel and know that X2 handles and
converts their file format.

My questions are:

1) Can I embed the Canon's video into PPTs without file conversion?; or
2) Can I embed the Canon's video into PPTs after conversion?
3) Can I import the complete PPT w/video into X2 Pro?
4) Will X2 Pro convert the PPT w/video into a YouTube presentation, even
if I use Picture in Picture?
5) Can X2 Pro merge straight video w/PPT w/video in it?

I have Corel's Video Studio X2 and use it a lot to edit video. It will not
accept (as far as I can find) native .wts format. What you will have to do
to be able to use the video on the camera is use the Canon supplied Pixela
ImageMixer 3SE software to obtain the video from the camera onto the
computer's hard drive and then convert it using the same program to a
useable form such as mpg or wmv.

As this camera does not apparently have a IEEE1394 (firewire) port, just a
USB output port the Corel program won't operate the camera for direct
download from the camera's hard drive to the Video Studio X2 program like I
can do with my Sony cameras.

Once you get your video into a format that can be used by either PowerPoint
(can't be embedded, only linked) or Video Studio then you can use it in one
of two ways. Either way you will need a conversion program to allow
PowerPoint file to be converted into a video format. There are programs
that can do that. Check Google for PowerPoint to Video for assistance
there.

Now you can either put the linked video from the camera into the PPT file
and create it that way or use the video file created from the Canon program
and edit it into the video file from the program used to convert the PPT
file to video.
