Good Luck on finding something free or even modestly priced! It is my
understanding that Corel considers their file formats to be valuable
proprietary intellectual property and they don't give usage rights away for
free or even cheaply, which is why in spite of their relative popularity,
you don't see much (any) 3rd party support for Corel products. An odd
attitude for a company that is constantly in a distant second place to
Microsoft Office and Adobe graphics programs.
Corel has much to offer, but insane decision making has turned it into niche
company, surviving on just not being noticed by the bigger players.

You make some valid points to ponder! Funny thing is that when one attempts
to use some file batch converter like Irfanview the resultant product looks
like dreck so I thought I might ask if there possibly something else
available.

You may not want to go this route but you can download the free trial for
CorelDraw V12 although it is a large download and only good for 30 or so
days. Available at www.corel.com
Otherwise, if you know someone with CorelDraw and you can burn those files
to a CD, you could ask him/her to convert them for you.

If those are vector files (I know that they're "Corel Photo House" or
"PrintHouse" format), you'll be running a balancing act between file
size and quality. At any rate, I've looked for quite a while to find
you something but was unable to do so. Probably because they are in
one of Corel's closely guarded proprietary formats.
The Corel program you're using doesn't allow you to export or "Save
as..."?
