I need to copy a column of 40,000 numbers to the clipboard,
using Excel as a database, carry out 12-15 sorts
dropping the clipboard contents into vacant columns as I go.

After I try a sort, the paste option no longer offers.
Any explanation? please.

G'day David,
I took a cursory look, but it seems archaic for my needs,
a bit like a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

I'll use a work around by pasting into an MSWorks WP doc
(400 pages :) then paste special / text from there, it only
takes a few seconds.

Thank you very much for your time in answering my query.

| Hi Rodney,
| take a look at Chip Pearson's page
| http://www.cpearson.com/excel/clipboar.htm
| you might want to clear the clipboard.

If you're using Excel 2002, or later version, you can paste the numbers
from the Office Clipboard.

To view the clipboard, choose Edit>Office Clipboard.
After the sort, select another cell where you want to paste the data.
Click on the item in the clipboard.

Thankyou Debra.
I intend upgrading, so I'll retain your advice.
In the interim, I'll employ MSWorks WP,
the programs are siblings.

Regards
Rodney
